About
We do the spec homework so you can size the purchase.
WattBench is an independent research site for portable power stations, solar generators, and home backup. We publish the math, the trade-offs, and the affiliate disclosure.
What we do
We maintain a database of manufacturer-published specifications for the stations people actually cross-shop: EcoFlow, Bluetti, Anker SOLIX, Jackery, and Goal Zero. We normalize those specs, apply a consistent usable-energy rule, and explain which differences change a buying decision.
We do not claim hands-on testing we did not perform. We do not invent owner quotes or lab results. When a spec is unpublished or disputed, we say so. When a manufacturer changes a product, we update the page and note the date.
How we make money
WattBench earns commissions from merchant affiliate programs when readers buy through our links. Those links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow", and every page carries a disclosure. Merchants do not pay for placement, rankings, or verdicts. Our picks are based on the same scoring model we publish.
We are not owned by a manufacturer or a retailer. We do not accept paid reviews. If that changes, it will be disclosed prominently.
How we score
Six weighted dimensions: capacity, output, portability, recharge, expandability, and value. Each is normalized against the full database. The weights are published on the methodology page, along with the runtime formula and limitations.
Corrections
If a spec is wrong, a price band is stale, or a product has been discontinued, email wildbills1977+wattbench@gmail.com. Include the product, the field, and a source. We review corrections and update the page when verified.
What we are not
We are not an electrician, a medical advisor, or a substitute for a licensed installation. A 240V transfer switch, a subpanel, and a generator inlet require proper equipment and professional work. A CPAP backup plan should be reviewed with your clinician and device provider.

Pick the job, then pick the station.
Home backup, RV life, camping, CPAP, or a tight budget. The guides start with the load, not the spec sheet.
