Power planning tools
Three free tools for sizing a portable power station: one for a single load, one for a whole outage plan, and one to print and keep with your gear.
Runtime calculator
Pick a station, enter a load, and see hours of runtime plus the battery size needed for a multi-day outage.
Run the numbers → 02Outage load planner
Check the appliances you want to keep running. The planner totals daily watt-hours, peak draw, and station class.
Plan an outage → 03Printable checklist
A one-page outage plan covering charging, food safety, medical devices, communications, and generator safety.
Print the checklist →Start with the right question
One load, a whole outage, or a paper plan?
The tools share the same 85% usable-energy rule and the same product database, so their answers line up.
If you have one appliance
Use the runtime calculator. It answers questions like “how long will a 2kWh station run a 75W fridge?” and accounts for the days you want to run without recharging.
If you are building an outage kit
Use the load planner. Add every essential you want to run at once, and it will total the daily energy and flag when no single station covers the plan.
If the power is already out
Use the printable checklist. It is deliberately low-tech: print it, keep it with your gear, and work through power, food, medical, and safety steps in order.
After the math
Turn a watt-hour number into a shortlist
Once you know the capacity and output you need, the comparisons show which stations meet it and what the trade-offs are.
