Portable power station runtime calculator
Pick a station and a load. We use 85% of rated capacity to account for inverter losses and a healthy depth of discharge.
Usable watt-hours = rated capacity x 0.85. Runtime = usable watt-hours / load in watts. Choose a station and a load to see the result.

A real fridge cycles, so its average draw is lower than its running wattage. A heater runs continuously. Read the fridge runtime guide.
Method
What the calculator does and does not model
It is a planning tool, not a guarantee.
It models
Rated capacity, an 85% usable-energy factor, constant average load, and the number of days you want to run without recharging.
It does not model
Startup surge, duty cycles, temperature, inverter efficiency curves, or simultaneous loads. Use the load planner for a multi-appliance estimate.
It rounds conservatively
Most LFP stations can deliver more than 85% of rated capacity in ideal conditions. We use 85% so the estimate holds up in real use.
FAQ
Calculator questions
Why 85% and not 100%?
Inverter losses, battery management overhead, and a healthy depth of discharge reduce delivered energy. Using 85% keeps estimates realistic and comparable across brands.
Does the calculator account for startup surge?
No. Check the station's surge rating against the appliance's locked-rotor or startup current, especially for pumps, compressors, and air conditioners.
Can I run multiple appliances?
Add their average wattages together and enter the total. For a more structured estimate, use the outage load planner.
Why do the results differ from the manufacturer's runtime chart?
Manufacturers often test at a fixed load and may use a different usable-energy assumption. Our estimates are conservative and consistent across brands.
